This course prepares students to become agents of transformation within the tourism industry. Current frameworks for social wellbeing, ecological limits, and economic resilience, Indigenous ways of knowing and relationship to land, and the tourism industry's role in a changing climate will be explored. Students will be exposed to examples of community stewardship and industry practice in action, will find and share stories of environmental stewardship, and will critique conventional tourism development through a regenerative lens.

60 credits of 100-level or higher coursework
Course Notes
TOUR 342 is an approved Self and Society course for Cap Core requirements.
REC 152 or a similar course in environmental stewardship principles is recommended.
