CapU Orientation is a fun set of events and workshops before the start of each term.
At Orientation, you have the opportunity to:
- Meet CapU staff and faculty who are here to teach, coach and guide you.
- Learn about academic and student support services available to you.
- Explore campus life, athletics, student clubs, social events and more.
- Attend workshops aimed to help you do well in class and adjust as a student.
- Make friends with other new and returning students.
- Have fun and make your first CapU memories!

Begin your CapU journey with our New Student Orientation Kick-Off. Immerse yourself in campus life and explore essential resources through interactive activities led by CapU staff and student leaders. This dynamic live session is mandatory for all new students. lt will not be recorded, so be sure to attend! Access details will be provided in advance.

Orientation, specially designed with you in mind!
This event will be hosted virtually using Zoom. As a reminder, if you are a new international student starting your studies with us this summer, your attendance is mandatory.
As a new CapU student, you can expect an informative morning to get you
started off right! Meet with staff, connect with new and current students, be
introduced to the campus and important resources, and learn all the tips you
need to succeed throughout your CapU journey.

- Learn about important Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) information
- Find out how to get involved in both online and on-campus events and activities.

Join us on the first day of the Summer Semester for our Welcome Fair in the Cedar Courtyard at the North Vancouver Campus! This is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow new students, explore the many campus services available to you, and enjoy some free food.
Stop by to grab your student swag, pick up your CapCard and take a campus tour to get familiar with your new surroundings. We can't wait to welcome you!

In this interactive workshop, the Writing Centre peer tutors will help students interpret a poem using skills they've been learning at Cap and then compare how ChatGPT's interpretations of the poem stack up against student creativity. Peer tutors will provide useful considerations around AI and education.

Completing our Orientation eLearn module will help you build your understanding of the university campus and learn important information about student services.
The module provides you with important information regarding how to get involved, what type of tools and resources are available to you, how to foster wellbeing as a university student and much more. If you haven’t completed the module yet, we encourage you to do so.
