An introduction to the properties, bonding, structure and reactivity of coordination complexes and main group compounds. Modern spectroscopic methods, solid state chemistry and bio-inorganic chemistry will also be covered. The laboratory component emphasizes the synthesis of inorganic compounds and the use of modern analytical instruments.

Prerequisites: CHEM 111 with a minimum C- grade

Notes:
  • CHEM 205 is an approved Quantitative/Analytical course for baccalaureate degrees.
  • CHEM 205 is an approved Science course. CHEM 205 is an approved Lab Science course.
