The Accessibility Plan reflects Capilano University's commitment to building a culture of accessibility, inclusion, and full participation, where all members of the CapU community are supported and responsive to access needs.
About the Plan
Developed through broad consultation with students, employees, community members, and the Accessibility Advisory Committee, the Plan identifies barriers and establishes goals and actions that advance accessibility across the University. Guided by the principles of equity, respect, and universal access, it supports the creation of learning and working environments where everyone can fully participate, contribute, and thrive.
The Accessibility Plan aligns with Capilano University’s long-term strategic vision and advances the University's commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. It complements Envisioning 2030, Illuminating 2030, and the People Plan by embedding accessibility into programs, services, facilities, technologies, information, communication, policies, and practices.
Accessibility Priorities
The Accessibility Plan focuses on eight priority areas identified through community consultation and barrier reporting:

- Priority Two: Curriculum, Teaching and Learning
- Priority Three: Digital Technology
- Priority Four: Employment
- Priority Five: Information and Communication
- Priority Six: Physical and Sensory Environment
- Priority Seven: Service Delivery
- Priority Eight: Systems, Policies, Procedures, and Practices
Each priority area includes goals supported by actions to guide implementation. Together, they advance accessibility, inclusion, and full participation across learning, working, and community environments at CapU.
