Email Setup on Mac Mail

1. Click the Mail icon in your dock or double-click the Mail icon in your Applications folder.
   
   
2. If this is your first time using the Mail application, you should see the "Choose a Mail account provider" screen.
   
   If there is an existing account setup already, follow the steps below to get to the "Choose a Mail account provider" screen:
   • Click Mail on the top left of the screen
   • Click Preferences within the Mail menu
   • Select the Accounts tab
   • Click on the + located on the bottom left of the Accounts window
     
     
3. Choose Exchange and click Continue.
   
   
   
   
4. Type your name, email address and password in the appropriate fields and click Sign In.
   
   Name: Your name
   Email Address: Your Capilano University email address (firstnamelastname@capilanou.ca)
   Password: Your Capilano University password
   
   
   
   
5. Select the applications you would like to use and click Done to complete the setup.
   
   
   

Email Setup on Outlook 2016 for Mac

1. Open Outlook from your Start Menu.
   
   
2. If this is your first time using Outlook, you will see a welcome screen. Follow the prompts to choose your Outlook options. Once Outlook is set up click Add Email Account.
   
   If there is an existing account setup already, follow the steps below to start the email setup:
   • Click Outlook on the top left of the screen
   • Click Accounts
   • Click on the + located on the bottom left of the Accounts window
   • Select Exchange from the drop-down menu
     
     
   
   
   
3. Type your Capilano University email address and click Continue.
   
   
   
   
4. Fill out the Method, E-mail address, Username and Password fields and click Add Account.
   
   Method: Username and Password
   Email Address: Your Capilano University email address (firstnamelastname@capilanou.ca)  
   Username or Email: Your Capilano University email address (firstnamelastname@capilanou.ca)
   Password: Your Capilano University password
   
   
   
   
5. Outlook will search for the settings and present a summary screen when setup is complete.
   
   
   
   
6. Close the Accounts window to complete the setup. Outlook will start and load your employee email.
