The Capilano University Events Office coordinates all University wide events which are hosted by the President and/or Chancellor. These events include the Convocation ceremonies, employee recognition events, donor events and building openings.
The Events Office is happy to offer consultation on your program specific or student run events to achieve a professional, consistent event, while using the resources available to us.

Special Events
The Events Office coordinates many events on campus. Here are a few of the annual events.
The Chancellor’s Circle was established to recognize individuals who have contributed $25,000 and above in lifetime giving to Capilano University. This annual event, hosted by Cap’s Chancellor, is to thank individual donors for their leadership and support in the fulfillment of Capilano’s mission and vision.
The President’s Circle recognizes the University’s supporters for their lifetime giving of $5,000- $24,999. This annual event, hosted by the President, recognizes the important role these individuals, foundations, companies and organizations play in the support of Cap students and programs.
Now in its eighth year, the awards program has honoured more than 125 people and organizations who have distinguished themselves and Capilano University through their contributions and accomplishments. Previous recipients have included Dr. Thomas Kerr, world renowned HIV/AIDs research pioneer, and best-selling author and playwright Anosh Irani.
Convocation is a fun and important day for many families, this day celebrates the achievements of the student’s successes. Students arrive as graduands and leave graduates and Cap U alumni, ready to take on the world. There are speeches, credential granting, entertainment and just enough pomp and circumstance. Recognizing the loyalty and dedication of our employees is very important at Capilano. Each year our Human Resources Department hosts a luncheon to celebrate those who have worked at Cap for 5 years or more (in increments of 5 years).
Capilano University is incredibly fortunate to have amazing employees and each year, their peers and students have an opportunity to tell them just how fabulous they are by nominating them for a recognition award. Three awards are granted: Exceptional Employee, Capilano Spirit and Team award for service and innovation.
