Elected Member – Board of Governors

Mayumi is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at Capilano University and is in between her second and third years.

She proudly served four terms as the Mature and Parent Students Liaison on the Capilano Students’ Union (CSU) Board of Directors and three as the Chairperson of the CSU Collectives Committee. She is about to begin her fifth term on August 1, 2023, as she has accepted a seat with the CSU.

She is very active in the CapU community. Mayumi is the Vice President of the Capilano Radio Club and was a Young Women in Business Club member and their social media consultant. She is a writing contributor at Capilano Courier and an editor at the Liar Zine. Last fall, she had a monthly column at the Courier.

Outside of her studies, Mayumi completed her business plan in the 48-week YMCA and WorkBC Self Employment Program and is launching her digital marketing business, FI INC., this year. She is a Director Nominee and Strategic Communications lead with the Friends of Museum of North Vancouver and Archives (MONOVA).
