She started the Change Education series, beginning with the first annual Asian Heritage Month in May 2022 to speak up against anti-Asian racism during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a teacher, she encourages her students to be active in community engagement and consider how they can give back to their communities.

Judy has a master's degree in history, she is a Heritage Commissioner with the City of Vancouver, the Ambassador of the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society, a long-time volunteer and activist in Vancouver’s Chinatown, and a member of numerous Chinatown historical organizations across North America.

Hayne Wai is a long-time Chinatown advocate and researcher in Chinese Canadian history. He is a founding board member and a past president of the Chinese Canadian Historical Society of BC, a former board member of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and continues to volunteer for both organizations. He has worked with community organizations, the federal and provincial governments, and was more recently a sessional instructor at the Faculty of Education, UBC, instructing courses in social justice education. Throughout the years, Hayne has served on various national, provincial, and municipal committees on anti-racism, diversity, and human rights. He has been involved with Asian Heritage Month activities for several years and appreciates learning the histories and heritage of community members.
