Become an active part of our community, experience cultural diversity, develop new skills, engage in the Capilano University community and become a leader while studying at CapU.
In the International Leadership and Mentorship program, we believe every person can tap into their leadership potential.
Our goal is to create a dynamic, supportive and inclusive community where students can:
- Connect with each other, faculty and staff on campus, student groups, clubs and departments on campus and community organizations in our community. Expand your social and professional network.
- Learn from one another about Canada and the 65 countries that are represented at CapU. Develop hands-on skills in mentorship, event planning, public speaking, event promotion, social media, team coordination, teamwork, leadership and cross-cultural communication. Learn about university processes and other engagement opportunities. Learn about yourself. Gain hands-on experience through leadership and mentorship, volunteerism and community giving.
- Grow as an individual, community member, learner and future professional by developing and applying practical skills.
- Lead a team of fellow mentors. Lead the organization of an event or an activity. Lead new international students through the process of transition to CapU. Many new international students take advantage of leadership opportunities by becoming a mentor in future semesters.
