Business student clubs and associations

Getting involved with CapU’s business student clubs and associations means you’re building your network right from the get-go — and having fun while you’re at it.

More School of Business student opportunities

Participating in an intercollegiate competition is a memorable and rewarding experience. Competitions often provide the most hands-on, realistic simulations of what it would be like to take on a specific role in a business.

Case competitions are also an opportunity to meet and interact with the companies associated with the competition as you progress through each stage. This is a unique networking experience where you may have the opportunity to gather feedback on the work you’ve done on the case.

Competitions are often run by employers who are seeking enthusiastic and driven candidates, either for internships or full-time, entry-level positions. You can also earn academic credit for participating through our specialized course, BADM 350 Business Competitions.

With CapU’s experience and expertise in the field, you too can become part of a winning team!

The School of Business offers many student events and resources to ensure our students' success in business. Networking events like Creating Connections give you a chance to develop your skills and grow your network. Student business cards are available to order through the department (email busadmin@capilanou.ca for details).

Our business instructors are available for regular coaching hours. Students get the chance to discuss course questions and receive support from the faculty teaching them.

Additional learning support is available for all CapU students. Check out the Learning Support – an area for all students to grow in confidence as they master course material and build new skills. Our specialized support centres include:

Expand your horizons, see the world from a new perspective, learn about a new culture and grow as an individual. You can do all this while studying abroad.

Besides enhancing your resume, studying abroad shows that you embrace diversity and have the confidence to try something new — setting you apart in an increasingly global job market. Plus, students who study abroad make international friends, get to see the world and have a lot of fun.

Visit the Study Abroad page to learn about CapU's programs.

CapU Business students can get hands-on experience in the workplace as part of their program. Through our new internship (part-time) and work experience terms (full-time, similar to a co-op), as well as our long-standing practicum programs, our students solve real world problems, engage in professional experiences and contribute to local businesses and communities – all while earning academic credit.

CapU also welcomes experienced learners seeking to continue their education. With our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process, you can earn academic credit towards your degree based upon your past work experience.

You won’t just learn about business here, you'll also develop the skills to help start your career. The professional team at the Career Development Centre is there to assist you as you move into the professional world.
