Lighting on the Birch Building on main campus has changed to orange for one week as a symbol of our support for the shíshálh Nation.

Earlier this week, the shíshálh Nation released the results of the Ground Penetrating Radar Investigation of the former Indian Residential School site that was on the lands of the shíshálh Nation.

In honouring the shíshálh Nation's call for a time of quiet contemplation and reflection, the university has lowered the Canadian flag at the North Vancouver and kálax-ay campuses to half-mast and has changed the Birch Building exterior lights to orange for a week as a symbol of our support for the Nation during this difficult time.

To learn more, you can watch the video and read the statement from the shíshálh Nation.
