If you have an urgent concern

If you need to talk to someone as soon as possible, we have some urgent sessions available. Please let our receptionist know that you need an urgent session, and we will book you in to meet with the next available counsellor, or we'll support you to connect with appropriate resources.

If you need urgent emotional support when the counselling office is closed, please call Here2Talk at 604 642 5212. This is a free, confidential counselling service available to CapU students. All sessions are confidential, and no one will be advised that you sought counselling.

You can call here2talk at any time of day, with no appointment, for a 60-minute counselling session over the phone.

If you are feeling unsafe or in a physical or mental health crisis, please go to your nearest hospital or call 911.

Counselling Services for Indigenous students

Currently, the position of Indigenous student counsellor is vacant. The mental health needs of our Indigenous students will continue to be supported through Counselling Services while working to establish ongoing culturally safe and relevant mental health support.

Visit the Meet the Counselling Team page to learn more about our team of counsellors. Students can book an appointment online or call 604 984 1744.
