Bio

Carolyn Neapole (BMT, Capilano University, 2005) began her career as a performer, singer and songwriter using voice, piano and guitar during which she released three albums. She shifted direction to music therapy because she could help people make a difference in their lives using music.

Neapole has worked primarily with adults in mental health in a variety of clinical settings since 2006. She also maintains a private practice where she uses music therapy, Somatic Experiencing and vocal psychotherapy to help her clients achieve their goals.

As a classroom instructor, Neapole focuses on the parallel journey of personal and professional transformation for the music therapy students.

She brings many years of clinical experience into the classroom to deliver course content grounded in the realities of music therapy practice.

By integrating theory and technique, Neapole strives to create a welcoming environment where students can evolve. She describes her teaching philosophy as: '"To love learning is to have a lifetime of possibility. I aspire to build empathetic relationships with students so they feel safe enough to try—and brave enough to grow.'"
