How to apply

While Summer Program dates vary from one partner institution to another, your first step is to apply to CapU. All complete applications lead to an interview, so your time will not be wasted.

Following the interview and selection, you will receive an email from studyabroad@capilanou.ca regarding the nomination acceptance decision.

Let’s have an unforgettable summer abroad!  

  1. Completed CapU Exchange Application CapU Exchange Application (pdf).
  2. Letter of Intent (250-400 words), which highlights how this Summer Program would support your academic, career and personal goals and what you believe you can contribute to CapU as a study abroad ambassador.
  3. Current resume
  4. Photocopy of the identification page of your passport. If your passport needs to be renewed, please submit a copy of your current passport and indicate "in process of renewal."
  5. Your myCapMap PDF showing which courses you have completed so far and which courses you still must complete to graduate from your program, based on your Academic Advising. Talk to your Academic Advisor about your degree requirements in order to understand which courses you still need to complete.

    Visit individual partners’ summer program pages to learn about course options. Note that credit equivalencies vary from one partner institution to another. Have a question about the courses you will be transferring back? Email us at studyabroad@capilanou.ca.
  6. A mini-portfolio of work (for applicants in the IDEA and Animation programs only)
  7. Two Faculty references. Please advise your Faculty references to email a completed Faculty Reference Form (pdf) directly to studyabroad@capilanou.ca before the application deadline.
