Stay updated on the collective bargaining process.

The next round of collective bargaining at CapU is anticipated to begin in 2025 with all of its employee union groups, along with other public-sector employers in British Columbia.

We are committed to negotiating with integrity and in a manner that builds trust between the University, its employees and the unions who represent them.

This page will be updated throughout the bargaining process.

Capilano University and the Capilano Faculty Association (CFA) have agreed to a date for initial discussions regarding bargaining for the renewal of the 2022–2025 collective agreement under the Province’s Balanced Measures Mandate. The two parties will have their first meeting Dec. 3 to begin discussions around a protocol agreement for bargaining. We look forward to productive discussions and a collaborative path forward with the faculty association.

Future bargaining dates and updates on progress will be posted regularly.

Capilano University’s two collective agreements have now reached their expiry dates:

  • Capilano Faculty Association (CFA): expired March 31, 2025
  • MoveUP: expired June 30, 2025

Although these agreements have expired, all provisions remain in effect until new agreements are ratified, unless there is a legal labour dispute (e.g., strike or lockout).

Both the CFA and MoveUP have provided notice to bargain, and the University, together with the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association (PSEA), will begin scheduling bargaining meetings throughout Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

The latest updates on bargaining for each employee group will continue to be posted on this webpage.
