Taras Luka
Vancouver-based accordionist and composer fuses jazz and pan-Latin styles.
Vancouver-based Ukrainian jazz and classical accordionist Luka’s 2023 album Part of the Journey is an exciting fusion of contemporary jazz and pan-Latin styles for accordion and septet. Luka has worked extensively as a composer and music director for theatre, while his “Choral of Freedom” for symphony orchestra, choir, and soprano, has been performed by Victoria Symphony Orchestra. His busy local band features fantastic players, including Dean Thiessen on piano, Daniel Howard on bass, Ardeshir Pourkeramati, saxophone, Christopher Fraser, guitar and Trent Otter on drums.
