In this 25-credit software development certificate – offered exclusively at our Squamish Campus – you'll gain hands-on experience, building your skills by training in various computer systems courses.
Training includes general coding and programming, software design, applications, and web programming and development. You'll develop logic-based strategies to solve various computing challenges, write algorithms for your solutions and implement them in various programming languages.
You’ll also learn to communicate complicated technical information effectively verbally and in writing.

Admission Requirements
English language requirements
English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission.
If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, you must meet our English Language Requirements.
Basic requirements
- High school graduation
- A minimum grade point average of 2.0 (60%) calculated on English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12 and two academic Grade 12 courses
- Pre-calculus 11 (C) or
- Foundations of Mathematics 11 (C) or
- Math Placement Test (Pre-calculus MPT)
Admission Notes
Students with less than 67% in English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12 will be required to write the Capilano University English Diagnostic Test (EDT) prior to registering in ENGL 100.
