The course will focus on the major existing and emerging transnational crimes that have been made subject to investigation and law enforcement, such as piracy, trafficking, terrorism, and cyber and environmental crimes. Students will gain a thorough knowledge of ongoing challenges regarding jurisdiction over such crimes, as well as the problems facing international and domestic courts in suppressing, investigating, and prosecuting transnational criminal activities.

Prerequisites: LAW 101, LAW 110, and LAW 210; OR 60 credits of 100-level or higher coursework
