Program Highlights

Step up your career in business and retail management with the Retail Operations certificate at Capilano University.

With this training (part time, face to face, online), you can work in private or public business sectors as well as retail business.

In the program, you'll gain fundamental business skills, including leadership, retail marketing and operations, and people management.

Gain confidence and skills to either step into the workforce directly upon graduation, or continue your studies with CapU's Business Administration diploma or degree programs.

  • Synthesize retail knowledge by developing and designing an omnichannel customer experience strategy proposal, including diverse perspectives, for an existing retailer.
  • Prepare and analyze retail key performance indicators on the performance of retail businesses.
  • Apply the principals and strategies of managing merchandise through supply chains, on the sales floor and in managing inventory.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage the human dynamics of a team by motivating, empowering, evaluating and supporting team members.
  • Apply appropriate recruitment, orientation, training and employee engagement strategies that meet specific organizational challenges.

Admission Requirements

English language requirements

English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission.

If English is not your first language or you’ve received your education in a language other than English, you must meet our English Language Requirements.

Basic requirements

  • High school graduation
  • Preference given to students with a minimum C grade in Math 11 and a minimum C+ grade in English Studies 12 or English 12 or English First Peoples 12
