Program Highlights
The North American Business Management Applied Post Baccalaureate Diploma (NABU Applied) builds knowledge about how to do business in North America for students from around the world.
International students and new permanent residents with an undergraduate degree completed outside of Canada can gain both North American business credentials and practical hands-on work experience in a North American organization.
This full-time program is offered in an accelerated format and includes a work placement practicum. Concentrations are available in marketing, human resources, international strategy & entrepreneurship and finance & investment.
Program Length
This is a two-year, full-time (up to 5 classes per term) program that can be accelerated to be completed in as little as 16 months.
Due to scheduling requirements, full-time students starting in January, can complete this program in a minimum of 18 months. Students who choose not to follow the suggested program plan will take longer to complete the program and must meet with an academic advisor to approve any changes.
Admission Requirements
English language requirements
English is the language of instruction at CapU. All applicants are required to demonstrate competence in the English Language prior to admission.
Students must produce evidence of their English Language Proficiency:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): paper =560 internet=83, or
- English Language Assessment (ELA)=145, or
- International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS)=6.5 overall, and no one score less than 6.0, or
- Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)=70, or
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)=56, or
- CapU EAP 100 and 101 with a minimum B+ grade in each course, or
- from approved pathway partner.
Basic requirements
- Completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.5 or higher with preference given to students with a 3.0 or higher on their final two years of study

- Students with backgrounds other than business degrees, economics degrees or the equivalent will be required to complete a Business Essentials course
Admission Notes
This program is not designed for students who have completed the Capilano University Bachelor of Business Administration degree as this is a duplication of coursework.

Students may obtain a concentration by completing 12.00 credits in one of the following areas:
Marketing Concentration: CMNS 305, NABU 318, and 6.00 credits from the following: any 300 or 400-level BMKT course (except BMKT 366, 401, 405, 408), or IBUS 357; or
Human Resources Concentration: NABU 330, NABU 334, and 6.00 credits from the following: BADM 305, BADM 332, BADM 329, BADM 382, BADM 466, BADM 475, or NABU 366; or
International Strategy and Entrepreneurship Concentration: NABU 404, NABU 310, and 6.00 credits from the following: BADM 306, BADM 321, BADM 465, BCPT 305, or any 300 or 400-level IBUS course (except IBUS 340, 356, 405, 434); or
Finance and Investment Concentration: NABU 320, NABU 470, and 6.00 credits from the following: NABU 340, BFIN 286, BFIN 321, BFIN 341, BFIN 342, BFIN 353, BFIN 386, or BFIN 486
