International Pre-Departure Session 1: Housing & Transition
Newly admitted international students are invited to join the first of two informative sessions to help you prepare for your journey to CapU. Starting a new life abroad is a big step, but were here to help you feel informed, confident and ready for success!
This first Pre-Departure Session will focus on helping you find housing and successfully transitioning to CapU and Canada.
Our Transition Advisors will provide information about:
- Accommodation options
- Your study permit + how and where to submit it
- Medical insurance requirements
- Social Insurance Number (SIN): How to apply and why it's important.
- Cultural adaptation including tips for adjusting to Canadian culture and building a support network.
Please check your CapU email for your individual invite and further details. Your parents and guardians are welcome to join you.
Note: The second Pre-Departure Session will take place on Nov. 10 and will focus on registration and academic success. These sessions are highly recommended for newly admitted international students.
