Bio
William Morrison is an award-winning Vancouver-based filmmaker, cinematographer, and musician with over four decades of industry experience.
As producer, director and director of photography, his credits span documentary and series work for Discovery, History Channel, National Geographic, BBC World, Food Network and the Travel Channel, including Glutton For Punishment, Cold Water Cowboys and Airplane Repo.
Recent projects include Shih, a roundtable documentary with Indigenous educators on
environmental issues, and final colour and sound mix work on Vancouver director Carl Bessai's Field Sketches.
Morrison's work has been recognized with a Grammy nomination, Juno Awards, Gemini and Leo Awards and multiple Much Music Video Awards for his music video direction with artists including Skinny Puppy, Matthew Good Band, and Gary Numan. He has also toured as a musician for decades with artists like Skinny Puppy and ohGr.
He currently teaches production, advanced cinematography and post-production in the documentary program at Capilano University, bringing four decades of professional practice into the classroom.
