Bio
Todd Newfield (M.Sc., Chaminade University of Honolulu / Sophia University, 1985) is a bilingual (Japanese and English) executive and marketing professional, with more than 20 years of experience in investment banking, marketing, media and technology.
After graduating with a Masters degree in Japanese Business Studies, Newfield obtained the R7 security license (New York Stock Exchange) and moved to Tokyo, Japan to pursue a career in investment banking. He later moved from finance into marketing and technology as a strategist for GIFCOM, Japan's largest sales promotion agency and later as a media director with the Leo Burnett/Starcom Group (Tokyo, Japan).
In 1993, he founded the FlyingColor Group in Tokyo and launched three companies in interactive media, mobile advertising and marketing technologies.
In Canada, Newfield mentors, trains and builds courses and workshops with undercoverprof.com. He actively participates in new-business startups and venture funding. At Capilano University, he also teaches a number of courses for the BBA, NABU and International Masters programs.
Develop/facilitate marketing, advertising, decision making, sales management, international marketing, entrepreneurship, strategy, investment and digital media courses for the BBA, Post-Bac and Masters level programs.
Created the BOSS curriculum for Continuing Education (Entrepreneur and Business Start-up program).
Promotions Convenor for the School of Business (2005-13). Managed all marketing, events, and promotions for the school.
Directed-Studies (BADM 306, BADM406): focus on tech platforms, programming, investing, and other industry skills.
Previous roles: Marketing Unit Convenor. LRP Chair, PD Committee Planner/Facilitator for the CapU School of Business and Elder College.
