Update message - June 7, 2023

Tag(s): News & Announcements

At every step of the way, Capilano University is committed to the bargaining process. The two parties are continuing to meet; an informal meeting took place as recently as last night.

As noted in recent media reporting, no new public sector contracts contain language pertaining to remote work.  Since 2021, Capilano University has offered employees a highly successful remote work hybrid office program, which was developed in consultation with employees and the union. Over the course of this round of bargaining, the university has again re-affirmed its commitment to continuing this popular program, which enables CapU to serve the needs of students while supporting the health and well-being of employees.

We continue to be hopeful that a negotiated settlement with MoveUP Local 378 can be reached soon.
