Hello Students!

We are so pleased to be in the final preparation stage to welcome you to the Fall 2021 academic term. As we shared with you last week, many people are working with extra vigour to enhance our safety measures for great in-person learning, service and campus experiences.

Come Back Vaxxed

Vaccination is the most important step you can take to keep yourself and our community safe. If you aren’t vaccinated yet, or it’s been more than 28 days since your first dose, you can drop by your local COVID-19 clinic to get protected. There will also be a pop-up vaccination clinic at our main campus on September 7 and 8.

We are taking a phased approach to proof of vaccination and the new provincial vaccination orders. For example, students in CapU housing must have their first vaccination dose by September 7. Engaging in many campus community activities after October 24, 2021 will require full vaccination (two doses) at least seven days beforehand.

What to wear on campus (the mask essential)

Bring your mask! Our first opportunity to get together in a big way on campus will be at orientation on September 7, 2021. While the CapU Street Party is outdoors, you’ll probably want to step inside at some point and masks are mandatory until further notice in all indoor public spaces, including classrooms, common areas and public-serving office spaces.

SPECIAL NOTE: Course delivery modes

The majority of our course offerings this term will be in-person, however, some courses may have temporarily switched to an online or mixed-mode of delivery. Unless you have received notification by your instructor of a change, the delivery method of your course will be the same as it was when you registered. If you’re unsure, please check with your program area or instructor to confirm.

More tomorrow,

Kyle Vuorinen
Registrar
