CapU COVID-19 response: From now through May 25, 2021

Tag(s): News & Announcements

The Province of British Columbia yesterday updated restrictions and orders to help stop the spread of COVID-19. These updates extend and strengthen previous orders and are in place until May 25, 2021. We know that this time period spans the end of CapU’s Spring 2021 examination schedule as well as the early weeks of Session 1 of our Summer 2021 Term.

It is important that our University community follow the provincial orders in place over the next month-and-a-half. This is a critical step for bending back the curve of the virus’ spread and smoothing the way for a better summer.

Parallel with the increasing pace of the province-wide vaccine roll-out, we must continue to follow all the relevant health and safety practices, wherever we are situated. This includes working and studying from home, in alignment with the order to remain in the vicinity of your health authority.

A small proportion of our Session 1 summer classes are scheduled to be delivered in-person. For some students and employees, this may involve crossing health authorities. As education is considered an essential service, you may attend campus for in-person classes, provided you are following all on campus safety procedures.

Please refrain from coming to campus during this time unless you have a specific and necessary reason for being here.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Keep Well,

CapU Campus
Safety Team
