Changes to Service Schedules and Campus Hours During COVID-19

We are continuing to implement precautionary practices to support the health of our community under the current circumstances. This includes shifting to predominantly remote learning and reduced staffing for support services. In relation to this, we have introduced the following changes to our service hours for the foreseeable future.

In general, buildings on the main campus are open from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and service hours are from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. If you need to access a building outside of those hours, please contact security as below.

Birch Building Cafeteria

Food services are now suspended on campus. If you are on campus, please be advised to bring your own food until further notice.

Bookstore

Beginning March 20, 2020, the Bookstore is scheduled to operate from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Please call the Bookstore before coming to campus: 604 984 4972. The online store will remain open for purchasing textbooks at this time. Books ordered will be delivered to your home address.

Campus Security

If you need assistance or have a question about safety and security on campus, you can contact our security office. They will remain available 24/7. For help with security, first aid, Safe Walk or lost and found, contact:

CapU Lonsdale

Our CapU Lonsdale location is closed and staff are shifting to work remotely.

Centre for Sport and Wellness

All active health programs, weight room, change rooms/showers and gymnasium are closed until further notice.

  • We recognize the importance of health and wellness during this time and encourage our community members to be active outside until we can re-open our facilities and programs.
  • Refunds for programs will be assessed once a date for resumption of service has been determined.

The Children's Centre

Consistent with the Province's expectations in relation to essential services, the Children's Centre remains open.

Health Services & Dental Clinic

Services are closed until March 31, 2020, with a possible re-opening date of April 2, 2020.

IT Services

IT Services is available Monday to Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. via email: ithelp@capilanou.ca

kálax-ay Sunshine Coast Campus

All learning at our campus in Sechelt has moved online for the remainder of the semester. Inquiries can be sent to: sunshinecoast@capilanou.ca and telephone assistance is available by calling: 604 885 9310 between the hours of 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Library

The University's Library (including the second and third floors of the Library Building), First Nations Student Services and Learning Commons are closed with services provided remotely. Dedicated computers and printers will be made available on campus for those students without personal access to such resources. Visit the website for more information.

Student Housing Services

CapU Residence remains open. We will continue to house and support students who need to remain in residence. At this time, there are no plans to close residence or the dining hall. Students planning to continue living in residence will receive regular updates regarding available services and our operations.

The Ts̓zil Learning Centre, Mount Currie

The Ts̓zil Learning Centre is closed until further notice.
