CIE welcomes more than 400 new international students
The weather forecast was in our favour — not too hot, not too cold — perfect for our Fall New International Student Orientation event.
This fall, the Centre for International Experience welcomed a record number of new international students to CapU, with a total attendance of 424 new students at this exciting event. Laughter and loud cheers could be heard across campus, especially during the CapU Campus Race led by student volunteers from the 2017–18 International Leadership and Mentorship Program.
New international students from over 35 countries were introduced to key service areas on campus and heard from faculty members from a variety of academic areas. They answered student questions and provided guidance on everything from where to go for help to what to expect in class — all with the goal of providing students with the tools to set them up for success at CapU.
If you were to ask our students, the vibe and energy of this day was on ‘fleek.’
