Starting at CapU this fall? We're excited to host a wide variety of virtual and on campus orientation activities, including workshops, social activities and our annual CapU Street Party & President's BBQ.
- Meet CapU staff and faculty who are here to teach, coach and guide you.
- Learn about academic and student support services available to you.
- Explore campus life, athletics, student clubs, social events and more.
- Attend workshops aimed to help you do well in class and adjust as a student.
- Make friends with other new and returning students.

CapU Orientation offers a range of core and optional activities to get you ready to start your journey with us and it is for all new students!
Join us for this virtual kick off session where you will have a chance to meet and connect with faculty, staff and fellow students, learn about resources and services CapU has to offer and get ready for school.
This in-person special session for Indigenous students will welcome you to CapU.
A series of online and in-person workshops designed to prepare you to get the best of your CapU experience.
These optional sessions (choose at least three) will cover topics such as using your health benefits, getting involved on campus, writing research papers more efficiently, preparing for a successful career and more! (Schedule TBA)
International Student Orientation (virtual - mandatory for all new international students) Sept. 2, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
In order to ensure you are best prepared to succeed on your academic journey, the International Student Orientation will cover everything from effective learning strategies and academic integrity, to student basics, study permits, and health insurance.
If you are an international student who is still uncertain about your travel plans or study permit status, we still recommend you register for the International Student Orientation so you can learn about what to expect as a new CapU student.
Almost all program sessions will happen in the morning of the Tuesday, Sept. 6. Some exceptions may occur. Your program area will give you the details if you have a program orientation to attend.
A campus-wide celebration to start off the year with the right foot. Join us for the President's BBQ (vegetarian options are available), live performances, a discovery fair, games, prizes and much more!
We are preparing a series of fun social activities and events for you to join in between your classes during your first week! Stay tuned for a detailed schedule that will include sports drop-ins, a karaoke event and more!
