If your passion is to create a compassionate, sustainable, and vibrant future for everyone, the Sustainable Economics Certificate at CapU is for you.
Offered exclusively at CapU’s Squamish Campus, this 15-credit, part-time sustainable economics program blends foundational economics theory courses with deep insights into environmental policy.
In class, you’ll tackle pressing global challenges where economics and environmental interests intersect. You’ll work with your peers and think critically to achieve collaborative solutions, building your critical thinking, logical and rational reasoning, analytical and communication skills.
The areas you’ll focus on in the certificate are micro and macroeconomic theory, ecological policy, perspectives on the planet and Canadian environmental history.
Squamish has a distinct environmental and economic landscape, so sustainability-minded professionals motivated to find solutions for the future of the Sea-to-Sky corridor are needed. You’ll graduate from the program with the tools to analyze and offer solutions to real-world environmental and economic challenges.
This program uniquely balances economic growth and environmental stewardship to ensure responsible development while incorporating Indigenous knowledge and stewardship principles.
Whether you are a recent high school grad, a working professional, or someone looking to deepen your understanding of sustainability, Capilano University’s sustainability program covers what you need to start your journey.
