We're pleased to announce the 16th season of the North Shore Jazz concert series (including four free outdoor shows), in partnership with The TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival and Coastal Jazz, from June 23 to July 2, 2017.
Six ticketed shows will be held at venues throughout the North Shore (The BlueShore at Cap, Kay Meek Centre and Presentation House Theatre). In addition, four FREE, family-friendly shows will take place at Civic Plaza, Lynn Valley Village and the West Vancouver Memorial Public Library.
Tickets are on sale now!
Next up in our Cap Jazz Series is Ambrose Akinmusire, who the New York Times called "a fiercely gifted young trumpeter," on March 31. He's followed by Arabic oud and guitar player Gord Grdina, who studied at Capilano University and has since found an international following with his New York City - and Vancouver-based collaborations - on April 8 at Western Front. Concluding the Cap Jazz season is American songbook master Bill Charlap and his trio on the Kay Meek stage. With four shows - on a variety of stages throughout the city - remaining in our 2016-2017 Cap Global Roots Series, there's opportunity to explore the sounds of the traditional timple of the Canary Islands with Germán López, get soulful with British Bluesman Jack Broadbent, groove to Cuban singer-percussionists the Pedrito Martinez Group and go for a stroll in Memphis with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn.
