Two Capilano University community members appointed to the Order of Canada
Former CapU chancellor David Tat Fai Fung, C.M. and honorary doctorate degree recipient Lorne Richard Segal, C.M., O.B.C., have been newly appointed as members of the Order of Canada.
Fung, who served as CapU’s chancellor from 2016–2020, is recognized for his leadership in engineering and technology innovation, advancing sustainable industry and strengthening Canada–China economic and industrial relations.
Segal, who received an honorary doctorate degree from CapU in 2015, is recognized for his leadership in real estate development and his enduring commitment to community service, particularly in advancing mental health and youth empowerment.
The Order of Canada is one of Canada’s highest honours. It recognizes people across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to the nation.
