Capilano University appoints new provost & vice-president, academic
Capilano University has appointed Vicki St. Pierre, DMA, as provost & vice-president, academic, effective August 1, 2026.
As provost & vice-president, academic, St. Pierre will serve as the university's senior academic leader, providing strategic leadership for academic planning, teaching and learning, research and student success.
St. Pierre is a respected and dynamic academic leader recognized for her commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, innovation in program development and student success. She joins CapU from Mount Allison University, where she is completing her term as dean of arts. During her tenure as dean, she also served as interim provost and vice-president, academic and research. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Vocal Performance from the University of Toronto and joined Mount Allison's Department of Music in 2015. An active performer, adjudicator and speaker, she is engaged with the music community nationally and internationally. St. Pierre currently resides in Sackville, New Brunswick, and will relocate to British Columbia in late July.

In parallel with her academic career, St. Pierre has built an international reputation as a contralto and specialist in early music. She has performed with leading orchestras and ensembles across Canada, the United States and Europe, including Tafelmusik, Early Music Vancouver, the Academy of Ancient Music, Les Violons du Roy and the Portland Baroque Orchestra.
