Martin Harley
Roots and blues musician is a master of slide guitar.
For three decades, UK singer-songwriter Martin Harley has captivated audiences worldwide with his spellbinding slide guitar style and ability to blend Americana, blues, and folk.
Harley’s sold-out shows and major festival appearances, including Glastonbury, reveal a remarkable talent for creating a down-to-earth sound that is both intimate and engaging. He’s earned nominations for the Americana Music Awards’ Instrumentalist of the Year and Best Acoustic Blues Artist. He has collaborated with Jerry Douglas and Derek Mixon and toured with Bruce Hornsby, Iron and Wine and others.
Harley was influenced for life from his 2007 travels through West Africa, where he played with local musicians, including Malian desert blues singer and guitarist Vieux Farka Toure. Among his eight albums, his 2012 record Mojo Fix, recorded in Texas with guests Carlos Santana and Steve Winwood, helped to establish his fan base in the USA. His latest 2024 release, the ambitious Morning Sun features percussion from Michael Blair (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Lou Reed), as well as two well-known members of the UK Americana scene, Mark Lewis on bass and Chris (CJ) Hillman on pedal steel.
