We are excited about welcoming you to Capilano University!

As a new international student at CapU, you have the opportunity to be matched with a mentor based on your academic program and your specific preferences.

A mentor is an experienced current CapU student who is part of the International Leadership and Mentorship Program at CapU.

This is a free service designed to make your transition to CapU and Vancouver easier.

Our exceptional group of mentors are keen to:

• Help you get acquainted with CapU;
• Connect you with departments and student life service areas;
• Introduce you to new friends; 
• Introduce you to Canadian culture, holidays, celebrations and Vancouver's vibrant lifestyle; and
• Share personal experiences on how to succeed in classes or reach out to instructors with questions, as well as where to seek support on different topics on campus. 

Note: If you have not heard from your mentor shortly after your New International Student Orientation, please contact iengage@capilanou.ca. 

1. I agree that the CIE can provide the above information about me to all mentors involved in the International Leadership and Mentorship Program (ILMP) at CapU. This information will be held in confidentiality between the mentors and the program coordinator.
2. I understand that at any time during my participation in the program, I can contact the International Student Engagement representative at iengage@capilanou.ca with any concerns.
3. I agree that if at any time I need to remove myself from the program, I will immediately contact the International Student Engagement representative at iengage@capilanou.ca with any concerns.
4. I understand that all program participants (mentors and mentees) will be required to agree to a similar agreement.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information through responsible information management practices. We collect, use, retain, disclose and dispose of personal information in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), other applicable legislation and Capilano University privacy management practices.

This form collects personal information for the purposes of verification by the International Leadership and & Mentorship Program.  It is collected by Capilano University under (s)(26)(c) of FIPPA.  By submitting this form, you are providing your consent for the International Leadership and & Mentorship Program to collect and use this information for this purpose.
