Dr. Theodore Von Kármán, widely recognized as the father of modern aerospace science, once wrote, “Scientists study the world as it is, engineers create the world that never has been”. If you possess an innate curiosity for how things work, enjoying solving problems, and want to build things that will change the way people live, consider a career as an engineer. The academic road towards becoming a professional engineer starts at Capilano University.
Capilano University is recognized provincially for producing high-quality engineering transfer students. The engineering transfer programs at Capilano are multidisciplinary, integrating the areas of chemistry, computing science, mathematics and physics through lectures, tutorial workshops, laboratories and hands-on projects. Seminars featuring invited speakers from other academic institutions, as well as from industry, are also used to complement the learning environment. Specifically Capilano University offers two engineering transfer programs: (i) the First-Year Engineering Program, and (ii) the Engineering Transition Program. Since both programs are university transferable, the subsequent completion of the Bachelor's degree at the receiving institution generally requires only three additional years of study.
