The top priority in planning a safe in-person convocation is the health and well-being of Capilano University’s graduands, faculty, guests, staff, volunteers and the University community.
To host an in-person convocation during a pandemic is complex and requires all of us to continue our vigilance with respect to COVID-19.
The regional and provincial health authority has advised that a convocation is a non-essential event.
As such, all in-person attendees are required to adhere to the following provincial and university event safety protocols as per the PHO orders (this applies to all graduands, graduates, students, faculty, staff, and guests).
Protocols are liable to change based on current Public Health Orders. Please monitor your myCapU email and the website for current requirements.
Following the directives of the BC Public Health office, proof of vaccination and valid government photo ID will be required for all in-person convocation ceremonies.
Guests and graduands who are unable to show proof of vaccination or are unable to attend the ceremonies in person are invited to participate in convocation virtually.
Masks will be required in all indoor common areas for everyone 12 years and older, consistent with Public Health orders. Please come to campus prepared with a non-medical mask.
Disposable masks for guests will be available at guest check-in and for graduands, branded CapU masks will be provided.
