New Student Orientation
All new students (domestic and international) must attend a mandatory New Student Orientation on September 4 at 9 a.m. It is recommended you come by 8 a.m. to allow you to register, meet new people and be ready for the opening ceremony. Check-in for Orientation opens at 7 a.m. All returning CapU students are welcome to join the scavenger hunt and street party during orientation for an opportunity to network with other students in your faculty.
As a new student (domestic and international) you can access the pre-orientation online activity on your Moodle course listing. Completing the pre-orientation course is mandatory and ideally, you should have it completed before you arrive for in-person orientation. Pre-orientation activities will take approximately one hour to complete and will help you learn how to navigate Moodle, tips for student success, and will connect you to important student success resources. The pre-orientation course is called “Starting for Success” when you are searching for it on your Moodle page and you will earn a badge for finishing it.
Returning students are also an important part of CapU orientation as are new students! We invite you to attend the scavenger hunt and street party on September 4 and meet our new CapU community members. SmartStart and the other orientation events throughout the two weeks are also open to you.
Returning students are also important supports for new students and if you wish to volunteer to help at orientation or become a Peer Helper for new students please look at the "Get Involved" page for more details.
