Hear from CapU student leaders and get tips on starting university, student life, and campus resources. Connect with other students and maybe even win some prizes! This session is for students only.
Preparing for your post-secondary education can feel complicated, but figuring out how to pay for it doesn't have to be.
In this virtual workshop, you will meet with a Financial Aid Advisor who will provide you with a roadmap of available financial options to help you get started on creating your own educational financial plan. Both students and parents/supporters are invited to attend this session.
Need to know how to set up your academic accommodations? We'll walk you through the process & answer questions including use of your IEP. Both students and parents/supporters are invited to attend this session.
Strategies to start the term off on the right foot (time management, note taking, reading). Both students and parents/supporters are invited to attend this session.
Career planning takes time, effort, and commitment. Start your career planning early to give yourself a leg up, especially when you’re at the stage of deciding which program or courses you would like to enroll in.

Step three: Join us on campus for Wellness Wednesday Summer Games
Drop-in activities — Registration not required
Dates: Wednesdays, June 22, 29 & July 6, 12 — 1:30 p.m. PT
Location: Capilano University — Cedar Courtyard
For students: Drop-in and play lawn games, meet other students, de-stress and learn about some of the well-being resources available on campus.
Parents/supporters: Drop-in for a Parents/Supporters Networking session happening at the same time for a chance to mingle with each other and CapU staff.
A one-hour guided campus tour will also leave from the Cedar Courtyard at 1:30 — 2:30 p.m. (PT).

Choosing which University to attend is a major family decision for parents, supporters and their newly admitted CapU students! Not only an exciting time for everyone but also a time filled with unknowns and many questions.
These informative and interactive sessions will give insight into how the CapU Community, and family members, can provide valuable guidance assisting their student’s academic success while supporting the achievement of their personal goals.
Cheryl-Ann Henning, CapU Supervisor of Student Recruitment and Sian Oliver, Windsor Secondary Teacher and Career Facilitator, will share their professional and personal experiences of guiding young adults into University while answering questions around the role parents and supporters play in the CapU journey.

JumpStart is part of our early transition programming for new students, to get support and information during the summer.
As a next step, New Student Orientation will take place in the fall, with a wide range of activities to get familiar with the campus and services and to meet staff and faculty.
