If you wish to use capVPN on your iPhone or iPad, follow the instructions below to install GlobalProtect and access capVPN.
Please note that GlobalProtect can be installed on campus, but capVPN can't be accessed on campus, only off campus.
Installing GlobalProtect on a Capilano University iPhone or iPad
- Open the Self Service application on your Capilano University iPhone or iPad.
- Log in to Self Service using your username (in the form of firstnamelastname e.g. johnsmith5) in the Username field and your password in the Password field.
- Click INSTALL next to the GlobalProtect icon to install the GlobalProtect application.
- Once GlobalProtect is installed, the GlobalProtect icon will appear on your Home screen.
Installing GlobalProtect on a personal iPhone or iPad
- Open the AppStore on your personal iPhone or iPad.
- Search for GlobalProtect in the AppStore.
- Click GET and then INSTALL to install the GlobalProtect application.
- Once GlobalProtect is installed, the GlobalProtect icon will appear on your Home screen.
Accessing capVPN for the first time
- Once GlobalProtect is installed, click the GlobalProtect icon on your Home screen.
- Fill out the Server, Username and Password fields and click Connect.
Server: capvpn.capilanou.ca
Username: cds\firstnamelastname (where firstnamelastname is your Capilano University username)
Password: Your Capilano University password
- Click the Status tab to check if capVPN has connected.
- Return to your Home screen. You are now connected to capVPN and can access internal only resources.
- Please remember to disconnect from capVPN when you no longer need access to internal only resources.
You can disconnect by opening the GlobalProtect application and then clicking Disconnect on the Home tab.
Accessing capVPN after the first time
- Click the GlobalProtect icon on your Home screen.
- Click Connect.
- After a few seconds, you will be connected to capVPN.
