When will I get my credentials?
If you are attending the Convocation ceremony, you will receive your credentials when you pick up your gown. Remember to take it with you when you cross the stage for photos!!

Credentials for students who are unable to attend the ceremony and have completed their requirements before May 2018 will be mailed approximately one month following the term in which they completed.

My name is spelled incorrectly on my credential. How can I get this fixed?
Contact the Registrar's Office, following Convocation day, to request a replacement.

Where and when can I get my gown?
Graduates can pick up their gowns from the Lower Cafeteria no earlier than one hour before their ceremony.

There will be a drop off location for gowns in the Lower Cafeteria following each ceremony. Gowns must be returned no later than 2 hours after the ceremony ends. The caps are yours to keep!

What is an assembly area and what do I do there?
The assembly area for graduates are in BR 161, 162, 166 and the New Upper Lower Cafeteria area. Graduates should first go to the Lower Cafeteria to pick up their name cards, credentials and gowns. After picking up those items, head to BR 170, just off of the Lower Cafeteria, to check any personal items. You will not be allowed to take any bags into the ceremony with you.

Appropriate instructions on the order of the procession will be given 15 minutes prior to the ceremony by the parade marshal.

      How much is parking?
Parking is FREE all day on Convocation day!!

The campus will be designated ONE WAY on Convocation day to ensure the safety of all of our guests.

I'm a faculty member, representing my program on stage. What do I do?
Coordinators/faculty have been designated as the representatives for their department/program. These representatives will wear convocation regalia, participate in the procession, and process in with the students. Faculty will sit with their graduating class.

All faculty wishing to be part of the procession should proceed to The Centre for Community Engagement (BR 126) to get their regalia. Those that are representing their programs would then proceed up to BR 161, 162, 166 and the New Upper Lower Cafeteria to assemble with their students at least 20 mins prior to the ceremony.

Any faculty that is not representing a program but would still like to be part of the platform party procession should also proceed to The Centre for Community Engagement (BR 126) to get regalia and assemble for the procession. All faculty are welcome and encouraged to join the ceremony.

Is there a special place I need to sit at the ceremony?
Guests may sit anywhere in the bleachers and floor area that is not marked Graduates.

The graduates' seats are clearly marked and graduates will be directed to their seats by an usher.

How do I get tickets to Convocation?
NO TICKETS REQUIRED! We are ticket-less... However, there may be ceremonies that are standing room only. Graduates are allowed four guests each. They can bring additional guests by request although we cannot guarantee them seating.

What is the difference between Convocation and graduation?
Graduation is when a student meets the requirements of their program, whether it be a certificate, diploma, degree, etc. Not all students who graduate choose to attend convocation. Convocation is the formal celebratory ceremony at which graduates are individually recognized for their academic achievements.
