Friday message from the President

Hello CapU,
I have been thinking of all of you as we’ve progressed through our first full week of learning and working remotely. I am incredibly appreciative of our entire CapU community for making the shift to continuity in the digital space. The foundations were there, but how quickly we were able to transform our teaching, learning and service models is a testament to your efforts and cooperation.
I also want to acknowledge the challenges that have come with this dramatic change of circumstances. Not everyone has an optimal environment for working and learning remotely. I know this is a difficult time as we continue to adjust to what will be for now, but not forever.
Learning in community is all about building relationships. You may be missing colleagues and co-workers. I am, and I think we are realizing just how important we are to each other, how much we have to be grateful for and what really matters in life. This is our motivation to stay connected.
As we journey forward, I hope you have, as I do, a sense of purpose in what has been asked of you and how you are rising to the situation. We are part of a global effort, to stop the spread of COVID-19. We can’t lose sight of why we have changed and how important it is that we look out for each other.
Keep well; I’ll be in touch again next week.
Sincerely,
Paul Dangerfield
President
