On Friday, March 6, 2020, the Capilano University Students Union (CSU) hosted a panel discussion on Women in Politics. The CapU Foundation partenered with the CSU to host a reception for donors of the Paul and Catherine Dangerfield Women’s Bursary. Students, CSU and panel participants also joined in the reception. The reception was then followed by the panel discussion and donors were thanked for supporting women in education.

The event, which was held at CapU Lonsdale by The Shipyards, was made up of the following speakers:

- Libby Davies (MP from 1997-2015 and moderator)
- Jane Thornthwaite (MLA for North Vancouver-Seymour)
- Bowinn Ma (MLA for North Vancouver-Lonsdale)
- Megan Curren (Councillor for District of North Vancouver)

The political panel discussed challenges, intricacies and opportunities of being a woman in B.C. politics, municipalities and the provincial legislature.
