West African Drumming
West African Drumming
On January 10, President Paul Dangerfield and Ted Gervan, dean of fine & applied arts, attended a workshop on West African drumming led by Kofi Gbolonyo and hosted by the Jazz Studies department at CapU. This dynamic, hands-on workshop takes place weekly during the Fall and Spring semesters and is open to all Jazz Studies students looking to expand their musical range and learn directly from a master of the Ewe music tradition. This popular workshop is now in its second year and Gbolonyo continues to inspire both students and faculty in the field.
