On December 5, the Capilano University Foundation organized the inaugural We Believe breakfast event in collaboration with Paul and Catherine Dangerfield. This event was created to raise funds to support CapU female students. CapU President and his family created the Paul & Catherine Dangerfield Women’s Bursary to empower women in education. Recipients of this bursary will be female students who attend CapU and demonstrate financial need.
155 individuals attended this early morning event at the Fairmont Pacific Rim which was MCed by Catherine Dangerfield. Sharka Stuyt from CapU’s School of Business provided the keynote speech.
CC Chang (District Manager, TD Bank), President Paul Dangerfield, and Paul Ten-Pow (Branch Manager, TD Bank) at the We Believe breakfast.
We Believe helped raise over $60,000 through individual donations, a matching gift from KPMG and other sponsorship support from the event. KPMG, Telus and North Shore Law were the event sponsors. Donors were able to choose any of the other 22 awards that empower female students at CapU.
