Elected student representative for a term beginning June 30, 2022 and ending June 30, 2022.
Sophia Kara is in her third year of the Bachelor of Communication Studies program, also working towards a Minor in Psychology. A graduate of CapU's Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate, she has taken a variety of classes in communications, psychology, French language, and law.
After holding positions on-campus such as Orientation Leader, Digital Ambassador, and CSU Volunteer, Sophia was elected as the President of the Capilano Communication Association in Spring 2021. Working with an incredible team during the first year back on campus after COVID-19 closures, she spent the better part of her tenure bringing social events back to the School of Communications.
Outside of CapU, Sophia is a Co-Chair of Communications of the British Columbia chapter of non-profit Equal Voice. Equal Voice is a national politics organization that works to inspire more women and non-binary individuals to dive within the field of politics. You can also find her at Champions Martial Arts Academy, training and teaching in karate and kickboxing.
