Elected Member – Board of Governors

Oscar Blue is in his fourth year studying human resources at Capilano University. Oscar originally began studies at CapU back in 2013 right out of high school, engaging in a broad variety of arts and science classes.

Leaving the school two years later, he committed himself to full time employment at PLE Painting, where he had spent his summers previously.

In spring 2016, he left PLE as a site supervisor to come back to CapU to pursue a degree in business. In 2018, Oscar was elected as a student representative to the University’s Senate, chaired the Senate Budget Advisory Committee, and took up the ex officio position given to Student Senators on the Capilano Students’ Union’s (CSU) Board of Directors.

At the culmination of his term in the Senate, he was once more elected to represent students on the Board of Governors and sits on the Board Governance Committee and, for a second term, on the CSU’s Board of Directors.

Outside of his studies and work in governance at CapU, Oscar is in his third and final year of studying to become a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor at Clearmind International Institute.

Recreationally, Oscar has played rugby at the Capilano Rugby club since age ten, and is learning how to fly at the Victoria Flying Club. Oscar loves playing and listening to music; he hosted open mic nights down at Shipyards Coffee in Lonsdale Quay before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and certainly plans to after.
