Preventing the spread of communicable diseases on campus

The university is following the guidance and direction of the BC Restart Plan, the BC Post-Secondary Institutions’ COVID-19 Return to Campus Guidelines and the WSBC Communicable Disease Prevention Guide for Employers.

For our campus community, the University has created the CapU Exposure Control Plan for Communicable Diseases.

Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility

We can all contribute personally and professionally by

  • getting vaccinated (as we are able),
  • following campus safety plans,
  • performing a daily self health check,
  • staying home when sick,
  • wearing masks when recommended or required,
  • following handwashing and hygiene etiquette, and
  • following public health guidance both on and off campus.

It is up to each one of us to do our part - it's our collective efforts that will make the difference. This is the time to be kind, to be calm, and to be safe.

eLearn Communicable Disease Prevention Training

As part of the requirements under the University’s Exposure Control Plan for Communicable Diseases, all employees are required to complete the Communicable Disease Prevention Training eLearn module.

There will be two self-guided eLearn communicable disease prevention training modules available:

For all employees: Communicable Disease Prevention Training eLearn module
Enrolment code (case sensitive): CapU

For supervisors/managers/deans: eLearn module coming soon
Enrolment code (case sensitive): CapU

Coordinators and chairs are welcome to take the supervisors/managers/deans eLean, if they so choose.

This training only needs to be completed once, so if you have new employees or members of your team who have yet to complete the eLearn, please ensure they complete the training no later than October 1, 2021.
