The following is a criteria guideline to inform candidates of the type of tasks that may be asked in each level of EXCEL testing (all tasks may not be listed). Your personal reference material is allowed for all levels.

Working Level of Knowledge - 30 questions: This test assesses the candidate's ability to create and develop a basic Excel workbook, including the most commonly used commands for formatting cells, navigating through the application, using formulas, and changing the overall appearance of the spreadsheet.

Considerable Level of Knowledge - 25 questions: This test is designed to assess candidates who will be required to use some of the more advanced features of the program, while the bulk of their responsibilities fall within conducting more basic level activities. It assesses the candidate’s ability to do advanced functions on top of the basic functions. Advanced functions include pivot tables, pivot charts, VLOOKUP, functions, merging cells, conditional formatting, macros, custom lists, cell references, formulas, etc.

Thorough Level of Knowledge – 55 questions: This test combines the Working Level and Considerable Level. For topics covered in this test, please see the descriptions above.

All test scores are valid and will be kept on file for two years
