    Complete your Community Capacity Building Citation (CCB) in two terms!


    • One course offered in the fall 2016; one course offered in the spring 2017
    • 1 X 3 hour class per week

    Admission Information

    • BC Secondary School Graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent or mature student status
    • Interview with a faculty member
    • Experience volunteering with a community based organization

    Program Description

    The CCB Citation provides applied Community Development training and is taught in an engaging, supportive environment. Students focus on real issues that are important to them and look at how they can play a role in creating the community they want.

    Fall 2016: Community Capacity Building (CCB) 100
    This foundational course explores the history, principles and practices of Community Development.

    Fall 2017: Community Capacity Building (CCB) 105
    This course allows for opportunities to build concrete skills to support social change.

    Career and educational pathways

    • Exit with a Citation in Community Capacity Building.
    • Earn university credits towards the Community Leadership and Social Change Diploma.
    • Gain employment and strengthen leadership roles in settlement work, community kitchens and volunteer program coordination.
